On December 9, 2013 I got an invitation from Zeina Abdallah on my Twitter account about an event arranged by her creative mother Mrs. Marlene Al Atrash Abdallah. Of course I accepted the invitation; I love to support Jordanians with original innovation and social reform plans also I really wanted to meet Zeina.
The event was held in Zara Center, which used to be my favorite place to hang and watch movies. I haven’t been there in years since so many other movie theaters have opened and let me just tell you this, I was really surprised! The place looked even better than before. It held a beautiful calm charm that reminded me of Amman “ayam zaman” old days. I got to watch a movie there soon.
I was glad that I recognized some friends in the attendees like Reem Sahoury and Rose Haddadin and as always I got to meet new ones like the two musicians of the event AlMugheerah Ayad and Hind Hamed who were kind enough to let me charge my poor mobile before the event really started. Thank you!
I also met Manal Al Sharif a lovely lady full of life and energy, it was my pleasure to meet her and the talented photographer who took amazing photos of me Fakhri Al-Alami, who is funny and very charming and the talented poets Ghadeer Said Haddadin and Kayed Awamleh.
But I got to say that the “crème de la crème” of my evening was meeting the lovely and intelligent Princess Rym Ali… I was so happy to see her and talk to her.
The event started when Princess Rym arrived and Marlene took her on a tour showing her the work of the talented women who tool part in the event and explaining their efforts to make Jordan a better country. Which explains the name of the campaign “Heak A7la” which means “It’s better this way”.
I photographed a lot as usual but this time I videotaped so much of the event and uploaded it to my YouTube channel, I will share the links here so you can enjoy the event from my camera. There was patriotic music, speeches, and poetry. It was an artistic evening.
Now Heak A7la is expanding and the idea is becoming more real, you can like the page and even take part in making Jordan a better country either by your ideas, your actions or by entering the events arranged by Marlene. Yalla!
